Sam Henry DDS
Samuel S Henry DDS graduated from Seguin High School in 1972 and then entered college at Texas Lutheran University. He graduated Cum laude from TLU in 1976 with a BS in Biology, he then entered dental school at UTHSCSA and graduated with his DDS in 1980.
Dr. Henry began his practice in Seguin, Texas in 1980 as a family dentist and thanks to his many loyal patients and top notch dental team has enjoyed steady growth from the beginning. Cosmetic dentistry is now a large part of the dental practice but Dr. Henry is still the family dentist for many people in Seguin.
With growth came the need for more space and new technology, so a spacious new officeequipped with state of the art equipment was built and operations as Tier One Dental began in June of 2009. Now a full range of cosmetic dentistry is available along with the traditional services of a family dentist in Seguin.
Dr. Henry is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Texas Academy of General Dentistry, Texas Dental Association, River District Dental Society, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He is also a member of the Seguin & Guadalupe County Chamber of Commerce and the Seguin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Sam is a past president of the River District Dental Society and served as its editor for many years.
In January 2008 Sam had the honor of being selected a “Top Dentist” for the Austin area by Austin Monthly magazine.
Dr. Henry also had an article on computer technology in the dental office published by “Dentistry Today”, a leading nationwide dental news magazine.
Dr. Henry is very interested in new technologies such as digital photography, digital radiography, and computer technology. He especially enjoys cosmetic and restorative dentistry such as ceramic crowns, veneers, bleaching, bridges, composite bonding, and implant restorations.
Sam and his wife Beth have been married since 1976 and have two grown children, Chris and Gail, and Buster the dachshund - his lazy watchdog. In his free time, Sam enjoys saltwater fishing, hunting, photography, cooking, and gardening.
Brett McCown, DDS
Brett spent his youth in Victoria, Texas, and is a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School. In 1998 he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas Lutheran University with degrees in Biology and Spanish. Following a brief career in the biomedical field, he returned to school to pursue dentistry and earned his DDS degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center Dental School in 2007.
From 2007 -2010 Dr. McCown practiced dentistry with Columbia VCH in Wenatchee, Washington. Dr. McCown later joined Tier One Dental in December of 2010. Brett speaks fluent Spanish and enjoys the challenges of endodontics (root canal therapy), pediatric dentistry, and oral surgery.
Brett married his wife Liz (also a TLU graduate) in 2000. They enjoy travel and outdoor activities as well as looking after their daughter, Avery Elaine.
